A Premium, Ready-to-Drink Cocktail

Bottle and glass horizontal - Bottega Negroni

An Italian icon for over 100 years, the Negroni is one of the world’s most popular cocktails. Presented in a beautiful stout bottle, the Bottega Negroni arrives pre-mixed and ready to drink.

It’s produced by the Bottega family, founders of Bottega SpA, who have cultivated vines in Italy for over 400 years and have practiced the art of distillation for two generations. In 1977, patriarch Aldo Bottega founded the family distillery, Distilleria Bottega, in the northern Italian region of Veneto. Since 1983, his children, Sandro, Stefano, and Barbara, have led the business, which now produces and distributes premium Italian wines and spirits to a global market.

The Bottega Negroni was born from a mixture of three handcrafted Bottega products: Bottega Bacûr Distilled Dry Gin, Bottega Vermouth Rosso, and the Bottega Bitter Aperitivo. These high-quality ingredients give life to a Negroni characterized by a perfect balance between the dryness of the gin, the sweetness of vermouth, and the well-known embittering of the bitter. It’s a strong cocktail, able to satisfy the most demanding and refined palates.

A Negroni cocktail ready to drink, the Bottega Negroni is best enjoyed on the rocks, with an orange peel. It’s also excellent alongside savory snacks, large green olives, cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano and pecorino, or whole canapés with duck breast, cured ham, or salmon.

Made in the Heart of Veneto

Bottega Negroni is crafted at the Bottega family’s distillery near Venice in northeast Italy’s Veneto region. The facility is situated in a 19th-century farmhouse, which the family painstakingly restructured to preserve the original architectural characteristics, surrounded by 30 hectares / 75 acres of vineyards. Along with premium spirits, the Bottega family have also successfully ventured into several other traditional Venetian industries, including winemaking, wine accessories, glassmaking, mineral water, olive oil, and organic foods.

The History of the Negroni

A traditional Italian cocktail, the Negroni was born in 1919 in Florence, in the aristocratic Caffè Casoni. The story goes that Count Camillo Negroni asked bartender Fosco Scarselli to “strengthen” his usual Americano cocktail, replacing the soda with gin, in honor of his most recent trip to London. This new cocktail became known first as the “Count Negroni-Style Americano,” before later taking on the name of its inventor, that is, the Count himself. It quickly became one of the most famous aperitif cocktails, both nationally and worldwide, and to this day is emblematic of Italian mixing excellence.

An Eco-Friendly Distillery

The Bottega family distilleria was specifically designed to conserve energy and use renewable sources to generate its own energy. In addition, the company has adopted organic farming practices. In the family’s vineyards, the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, GMOs, and derivatives are prohibited. Therefore, Bottega SpA uses only organic fertilizers and the technique of green manure to improve soil fertility.

During distillation, CO2 emission is reduced substantially. Packaging is sustainable in several aspects (glass bottles, paper, cork) and there is a recycling program on the premises — just adding to the many green practices employed during the making of Bottega Negroni.

Crafted from Three High-Quality Ingredients & Ready to Enjoy

The Bottega Negroni has been conveniently pre-mixed with three high-quality Bottega ingredients. First, Bottega Bacûr Distilled Dry Gin, which is produced using Alpine water and botanicals exclusively of Italian origin, such as Tuscan juniper berries, Triveneto sage leaves, and Sicilian lemon peels. Second, Bottega Vermouth Rosso, which is crafted from a secret recipe involving merlot and more than 30 botanicals — including gentle absinthe, basil leaves, coriander seeds, marjoram, oregano, Clary sage, and red radicchio. Third, the Bottega Bitter Aperitivo features chinotto, grapefruit, cedar peels, pomegranate extract, and several other botanicals.

The careful dosing of these three ingredients gives life to a Negroni that perfectly balances the dryness of the gin, the sweetness of the vermouth, and well-known embittering of the bitter. Bottega Negroni has the characteristic ruby red color with vermillion reflections, leading to an elegant, dry bouquet with intense citrus fragrances plus spicy hints and aromatic herb notes. The palate is full, enveloping, and refreshing, with excellent structure and balance. It’s a strong cocktail, able to satisfy the most demanding and refined palates.
