Pure Nebbiolo fruit here that gives aromas and flavors of rose petal, light prunes and dried figs. Full body, with polished velvety tannins and a long caressingly textured finish. Drink now or hold. Beautiful balance

A young Barolo with balance and subtle flavor of dark chocolate, spice and mushroom. Medium body. Very pretty already. Drink now.

The 2005 Barolo La Rosa is a graceful, floral wine laced with perfumed red fruit, roses, sweet spices and minerals. The La Rosa possesses gorgeous textural richness in a soft, approachable style, with a long, refined finish that rounds things out. Today the wine comes across as quite primary, but with some additional time in bottle it should develop additional tertiary nuance. The tannins gain on the finish in this deceptively medium- bodied Barolo.

The 2007 Barolo Vigna La Rosa is stylistically similar to the straight Barolo, but it has more textural depth and sheer body. Sweet, perfumed flowers, dark cherries and licorice are woven together in this graceful, suprisingly vinous Barolo.

Barolo La Rosa delivers bold, dark concentration with sweet spice tones of almond paste and vanilla cream backed by sharply focused aromas of red berry, cassis, plum and mocha. In the mouth, this beautiful Nebbiolo boasts a linear but long-lasting feel.

Enticing scents of wild berries, violets, grilled herbs and white pepper take center stage in this structured wine. The taut palate offers succulent red berry, clove, cooking spice and licorice flavors alongside a network of firm, fine-grained tannins. Drink 2018-2031.

This Barolo comes from Fontanafredda's La Rosa vineyard within the commune of Serralunga d'Alba. It's a denser, more robust and earthier version of their Barolo labeled Serralunga d'Alba· Fabulously long and balanced, it's a gorgeous wine with layers upon layers of excitement. It has a modern patina without losing any of the traditional mixture of savory and fruit flavors found in top notch Barolo. This young Barolo simultaneously bombards and caresses the palate.

Sweet strawberry and cherry aromas. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Focused, with clean, rich fruit, offering lots of dark berry notes. Shows plenty of polish.

Ripe, cherry and plum jam aromas lead off, with a saturated palate of sweet fruit tinged by tar and licorice. Firm tannins conclude the adventure.

Fine harmony and sweet cherry and berry flavors are the hallmarks of this rich Barolo. Licorice, spice and tobacco flavors add depth as it stays focused and persistent through the finish. The tannins are ripe and well-integrated.

The cherry and strawberry fruit come to the fore, while tar and spice flavors play supporting roles. This is fresh, balanced and persistent, with echoes of spice and mineral emerging on the long finish.

The supple texture plays the ideal foil for cherry, raspberry, floral and spice flavors in this elegant, detailed red. The structure emerges as this unfolds, with white pepper and chalk elements lingering on the aftertast. Best from 2018-2030.

Fragrant blue flower, woodland berry, underbrush, scorched earth and grilled herb are just some of the aromas that float out of the glass. The dense, succulent palate doles out ripe raspberry, black cherry, chopped mint, clove and cinnamon framed in velvety tannins that lend structure and finesse.
