Bright straw. Fresh melon and peach aromas are complicated by suggestions of chalk and jasmine. Juicy, penetrating honeydew and orange flavors show a refreshing spiciness and put on weight with air. The nicely focused finish shows lingering florality and a touch of anise.

Bright gold. Ripe pear, melon and a hint of vanilla on the nose. Supple, open-knit orchard and pit fruit flavors show good depth and an energizing spicy, gingery nuance. Ample but lively white wine with bright finishing cut and a touch of smokiness.

Light, green-tinged yellow. Zesty, mineral-tinged aromas of fresh orchard fruits, honeydew melon and tangerine show good lift and clarity. Juicy pear and melon flavors unfold slowly, picking up a subtle hint of fresh fig with air. The tangerine note repeats on a silky, nicely persistent finish that's firmed by a late jolt of bitter citrus pith.

Roussanne?s savory, nutty richness fills this wine right now, with Viognier?s fine violet and lily notes playing around its edges. It?s meaty and restrained, an elegant white for pork loin.

Blended from viognier and roussanne grown in and around Condrieu. This is redolent of chestnut honey, with delicate peach and rich marzipan notes. It's far more than you'd expect from a simple Cotes du Rhone. It's the sort of wine you might expect on the table of an expert fisherman and proud Marseillan, lusty and full-bodied, but refined enough to match a bowl of bourride

A blend of 70% Viognier and 30% Roussanne, the 2014 C?tes du Rh?ne La Redonne Blanc is a terrific white that should represent value. Raised mostly in stainless steel (a small part of the Roussanne was in barrel), it has lots of saline and marine-like minerality as well as classic Viognier notes of tangerines, orange blossom and white peach. Medium-bodied, juicy, fruity, yet always clean and crisp, it has tons to love and will be a terrific meal-starter over the coming year or two.

Ripe and creamy, but fresh, with green melon, anise and pear flavors that glide along, attached to a stony spine that sits in the background. A bitter almond edge chimes in on the finish.

Bright and fresh, with quince, anise, apricot and green almond notes carried by a minerally finish. Not big, but fresh and persistent through the finish. Viognier and Roussanne.

Alluring, with a creamy feel and anise, plantain and yellow apple fruit flavors seamlessly layered together. Light almond details echo on the finish. Viognier and Roussanne. Drink now through 2019.
