Bright pale straw. Lovely aromas and flavors of yellow melon, green fig, sage and rosemary with hints of riper orchard fruit and butter. Juicy acidity provides lift and precision on the long salty finish. A lovely wine, but borders on being almost too Sauvignon Blanc-like; anyways, it’s delicious. A blend of Grillo and Catarratto (wrongly, the label doesn’t specify which Catarratto, and it should, as there exist different biotypes that give different wines).

DescriptionZisola is the product of a partnership between a great Tuscan family with a rich wine heritage, and a land blessed by nature with excellent conditions for winemaking. The Zisola estate is located in southeastern Sicily, the home of Nero dAvola, just outside of the town of Noto. Here, the historic Mazzei family discovered untapped potential, and pioneered an ambitious project to bring that potential to light. After successfully creating premier red wines, Zisola, Doppiozeta and Effe Emme, the Mazzei family proudly introduces, Azisa, an exceptional example of a Sicilian white wine. This wine is the inspiration for the estates name Zisola, which also means "beautiful", an adjective that captures the character of this extraordinary blend of the areas indigenous Grillo and Catarratto varieties in a single word. Head-trained vines lie at an average altitude of 425 feet above sea level in medium textured soils that are both calcareous and mineral.
