DescriptionThis wine is a blend from Lodi Ranches surrounding the Mokelumne River where some of California's oldest Zinfandel vines are farmed. Soils are diverse with primarily granite cobble deposited centuries ago from the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Cool "Delta Breezes" blanket the area during the growing season resulting in layers of ripe fruit flavors, firm acidity, and fine structure.
VinificationHand sorted, destemmed bunches are crushed in stainless steel tanks. Native yeast starts fermentation, supplemented with Assmanshausen yeast. Malolactic fermentation in barrel on lees. Aged 15 months in oak. 90% French, 10% American; 10% new.
