Conte Francesco Marone Cinzano, owner of Col d’Orcia in Montalcino, fell in love with the rustic hills of Caliboro, in the heart of Maule. He bought land there in 1995 and planted cabernet, merlot and cabernet franc for his main cuvée, Erasmo. Given the warm conditions of the area, he also decided to grow some garnacha, barbera, carignan and alicante, which he now uses for this refreshing and lively red, filled with red cherry and strawberry flavors. The texture feels tight but without any hint of astringency. Pour it with smoked pork chops.

The bouquet is redolent of dark fruit with jammy overtones and blackberry preserves. Spice, cinnamon and grilled herb fill in the rear. This wine would make a great companion to spicy sausage with green peppers and onions.

The 2015 Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Valle de Uco, from their El Oasis estate vineyards at Los Árboles and was produced fermenting the destemmed and crushed grapes after a cold soak and aging the wine in oak barrels for one year. This is a wine that shows quite varietal, with that blend of raspberries and a spicy and herbal touch. The palate reveals the classical Cabernet tannins, with elegance and good freshness. There is one single blend and multiple bottlings of it. 194,900 bottles produced.
