California Basil Smash

ingredients

1.5 oz (45 ml) Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin with California Orange Citrus
1 oz (30 ml) fresh lemon juice
0.5 oz (15 ml) simple syrup
Handful of fresh basil leaves
Cube ice

directions

In a cocktail shaker, muddle the fresh basil leaves.
Add gin, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and ice. Shake vigorously. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice.
Optionally, garnish with a fresh basil leaf.
