ingredients

  • 2 oz / 60ml Dos Maderas 5+3
  • 0.5 oz / 15ml lime juice
  • 0.5 oz / 15ml orange juice
  • 1 bar spoon / 10ml cinnamon syrup
  • 0.5 oz / 15ml vanilla syrup
  • 0.5 oz / 15ml Pimento Dram
  • 1 Dash Angostura bitters
  • Dash of Absinthe (optional for garnish)

  • Prepare Syrups: Simmer two cinnamon sticks in a cup of boiling water for 20 minutes to make cinnamon syrup, then mix in an equal amount of sugar; for vanilla simple syrup, dissolve equal parts sugar in hot water and add vanilla extract.
  • Juice and Peel: Juice a lime and an orange, and peel a long twist from the orange for garnish.
  • Combine and Shake: Add the prepared syrups, lime juice, orange juice, and cracked ice into a shaker and shake for 10 seconds.
  • Strain and Fill: Double-strain the cocktail into a chilled Collins glass or tall ceramic Tiki mug, then fill the glass with crushed ice.
  • Garnish and Serve: Decorate with a cinnamon stick wrapped in the orange twist, grate fresh nutmeg on top, add a dash of Absinthe, and serve with a reusable straw.
