Background

Drumshanbo Sausage Tree Irish Vodka is the latest release from the Shed Distillery and another inspired creation from the wonderful mind of PJ Rigney. By marrying Irish Grain and the Kigelia Africana, also known as the "Sausage Tree, Rigney has sought to create "nature's purest Vodka". Slow distilled with Sausage Tree fruit, Irish grain, and wild Irish nettle, this vodka boasts a slightly fruity and herbaceous taste.

Tasting Notes

Crystalline Smooth, subtle fruit notes. Extraordinary, pure and smooth taste. Lightly fruity with herbal notes.

Look for a neutral aroma and earthy palate tinged with vanilla, clove and black pepper heat. The clear liquid within the bright-red bottle is a grain neutral spirit distilled with wild Irish nettle, Irish grain and “sausage tree” fruit, which resemble elongated potatoes (some say sausages) hanging from the branches of the Kigelia Africana tree. —K.N.
