Alta Luna Wines: A Moon Within Reach
Alta Luna is a premium taste of wines from northern Italy’s Vigneti delle Dolomiti region, crafted from grapes growing on select hillside vineyard sites. Like two halves of the moon, Alta Luna’s pair of stunning wines — a pinot grigio and sauvignon blanc — deliver a refreshing, transportive taste of this majestic, windswept region.
The name itself means “high moon,” a nod to the heights of this extraordinary terroir, skillfully farmed by a network of heritage grape growers belonging to the Cavit family of farmers.
Their prime-sited vineyards perch in the cool foothills along the Adige Valley, bordering Trentino and Alto Adige, in the town of Roverè delle Luna. Only carefully selected sites from high-altitude plots with ideal, sunny aspects are chosen for Alta Luna wines.
The unique glacial-alluvial soils, which are rich in texture and well drained, are just the beginning. The climate in this region makes all the difference — northern Trentino enjoys classically warm temperatures in the summer, helping in the phenolic development and ripening of the berries. The cool evenings lock in elegant aromatics, complexity, and vibrant acidity, resulting in exhilarating, beautifully balanced wines sure to leave even the most discerning of palates over the moon.

Producing well-crafted, expressive wines that over-deliver on price is not a new concept for master winemaker Fabrizio Marinconz, who has been producing quality wines in northern Italy for many years. His depth of experience shines through in Alta Luna, which uses grapes grown in some of the region’s marquee high-altitude vineyards. Grapes are harvested by hand and undergo temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, with a gentle pressing.
