Palmes d'Or Brut Magnum

Their origin story centers around Henri Macquart, pioneering founder of the Centre Vinicole de la Champagne, and Nicolas Feuillatte, a dynamic local businessman. Out of their shared passion for Champagne, a daring idea formed: create a new brand of excellence. An upstart that would knit together the tapestry of Champagne’s finest terroirs through an unrivaled network of heritage growers.

The year 2000 will be remembered for challenging, alternating spells of cold and rainy then warm and stormy weather. Summer was patchy and persistently dull. The weather miraculously took a turn for the better at the end of August. It was this window of fine weather, continuing right through the harvest, that made this vintage so remarkable. 95% of the wine was sourced from Grand Cru vineyards, a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in equal measure. A portion of the Chardonnay hails from Montgueux, famed for its more tropical, fleshy, and intense characters.

Vinified in temperature-controlled, stainless-steel tanks. Aged at least 20 years in the cellars. Chief Winemaker Guillaume Roffiaen adapts dosage levels to each champagne in order to enhance the flavors and aromas. The choice of reserve wine is paramount and takes into a consideration a whole range of factors, including the proportion of cru wines, harvest year, grape varieties and vinification and ageing methods, in order to preserve the intrinsic style of each cuvée. To celebrate the uniqueness of the Palmes d’Or 2009 Brut, Roffiaen created a liqueur de dosage made from 100% Chardonnay from a perpetual reserve and aged in oak for 4 months.

Concentrated, luminous, and translucent straw yellow. Extraordinarily expressive bouquet, characterized by purity and intensity. Mineral notes evolve into subtle roasted mocha tones with nuanced herbal tea notes unwinding to fresh verbena and lime blossom on the finish. There is typical Chardonnay freshness here, imparting remarkable poise. Thirst-quenching and full-bodied, the mineral notes are underpinned by a hint of citrus with a saline finish that lingers unforgettably.
