Background

Rocca delle Macìe has combined their 50 years of viticulture and fine-winemaking experience with the expertise of local Puglian producers to introduce PietraPura to the world. PietraPura’s goal is to capture the style and terroir of the Salento region, sourcing the best Primitivo from the province of Taranto.

TERROIR & VINTAGE NOTES

Grapes are from the Manduria area in Taranto, Salento within the Puglia region. The limestone-based peninsula that divides the Adriatic Sea from the Ionian Sea and forms Italy's heel is renowned for some of the best value wines in all of Italy.

Winemaking & Aging

The wine has a temperature controlled fermentation. The must is then gently pressed and the wine is aged for 4 months in French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes

A wine has a ruby red color with some purple reflections. It has great structure, with a wide range of aromas including ripe cherries, plums and pleasant notes of cacao and vanilla.
